Abstract/Notes: "The Montessori lectures by Miss Helen Parkhurst, Supervisor of the Montessori Schools in this country, given in Philosophy building, are attracting a fine group of earnest men and women who wish to know more about this great educational system which will revolutionize modern methods. Miss Parkhurst studied for some time with Dr. Montessori in Rome and is thoroughtly imbued with the spirit of the great teacher and is eminently capable of inspiring her audiences. Superintendents, supervisors and especially kindergarten and primary instructors should include this series of lectures in their schedule. Two lectures have already been given on the history of the method and one on materials used. The second lecture on materials will occur this evening."

Seed + Spark: Using Nature as a Model to Reimagine How We Learn and Live

Available from: Seed + Spark

Abstract/Notes: Seed + Spark takes its readers in search of a better understanding of the future of learning — and, by extension, the future of humanity. Believing “the future is already here; it’s just not evenly distributed,” Seed + Spark provides a framework for remaking our schools, our workspaces, and our social structures in ways that align with the design principles of the natural world. The result is an eclectic, provocative series of interviews, ideas, and case studies in which parallel worlds collide, and our basic understanding of our place on the planet is forever altered.
