[This research is motivated by the mathematical ability of children aged 3-4 years in PG-TK Ar-Raudhah Pepelegi, with the mathematical abilities of other children, in general children still depend on their parents or teachers in understanding the learning given by the teacher. If you look at children aged 3-4 years in PG-TK Ar-Raudhah Pepelegi, they have shown their abilities ranging from recognizing numbers through the number of objects until the child is able to complete the tasks given by the teacher. Basically, by providing opportunities for children to seek direct experience, they can increase their mathematical abilities. So what kind of learning method is used in PG-TK Ar-Raudhah so that the mathematical abilities of children aged 3-4 years can develop well. The formulation of the research problem is (1) How is the mathematical ability of children aged 3-4 years at PG-TK Ar-Raudhah Pepelegi Waru Sidoarjo, (2) How is the implementation of the Montessori method in the mathematical abilities of children aged 3-4 years at PG-TK Ar-Raudhah Pepelegi Waru Sidoarjo. This study used a qualitative approach and data collection was carried out using the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis used is the Miles and Huberman model where the analysis process starts from reducing data, then presenting and verifying. The data validity technique used is the triangulation method. The results showed that the implementation of the Montessori method in learning mathematics, especially in PG-TK Ar-Raudhah Pepelegi developed quite well because children began to be able to recognize numbers to understand concepts and were able to complete tasks given by the teacher with little or no help, this shows that the teacher's strategy in applying the Montessori method in improving children's mathematical abilities has begun to develop well. Likewise, the implementation that has been carried out at the PG-TK Ar-Raudhah Pepelegi institution is in accordance with the stages in the Montessori method starting from the stage of showing numbers, the stage of introducing concrete learning media to the stage of recalling mathematics learning that has been given by the previous teacher, so that children can improve their mathematical abilities well.]

Abstract/Notes: Montessori education has developed for over a century, mainly due to Montessori found the early childhood development principles and rules by the scientific method. She advocates child-centered,and there are three elements of Montessori education:(1)prepared environment, (2) teachers, (3) teaching aids, through the three to guide children's learning. However, in Taiwan, people worried about that Montessori education is lack of emotional, creativity , interpersonal learning, and the transition with primary education, therefore Montessori education is still being considered as an alternative education. In this regard, Montessori Teachers Association of the R.O.C pointed many longitudinal study shows that Montessori children perform better than the traditional-education children in many ways of academic achievements, active learning, interpersonal relationships, and emotional management. Nowadays, the concept of " school readiness " becomes more important, and the Ministry of Education is actively compiling the "Guidelines of Nursery Education Activities and Security Curriculum " which is particularly imply the importance of transition program. Thus, this study proposes to investigate Montessori education from the perspective of school readiness. First , researcher explored the common context of Montessori education and school readiness by document analysis, then based on the results to construct "The corresponding table of Montessori education and five-year-old children school readiness assessment “, and corrected the table by expert validity. Finally, assess the Montessori children's school readiness in actually. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, Crosstabs, Chi-square test, Pearson’s product -moment correlation, Spearman's rank correlation, t- test, and one way ANOVA. The results were summarized as follow: A."The corresponding table of Montessori education and five-year-old children school readiness assessment “ is highly corresponded, show they concerned the same capacity of children. Initially reflected Montessori education conform the basic development requirements of Taiwan early child education, and could help children get ready into primary school. B. Montessori children in this study sample get good school readiness. C. There is significant difference towards the school readiness between children study /non-study Montessori kindergarten. D. There is significant difference towards school readiness of “physical health and development domain”、”mathematical logic and cognitive science domain” between Montessori kindergartens and Montessori child care;there is no significant correlation between children’s school year in Montessori kindergarten and children’s school readiness;there is no significant difference towards the school readiness between boys and girls. E. There is significant correlation in “physical health and development domain”、”language and communicate domain”、” mathematical logic and cognitive science domain”、” cultural and artistic domain” and ” overall average” between school readiness and the years of teaching five-year classes (ambiguous age);there is significant correlation between school readiness and the highest degree of Montessori teachers;there is no significant difference towards the school readiness between the teachers with different Montessori teacher license.

Abstract/Notes: In an effort to explore the ways in which Montessori curriculum and public schools are cooperative or mutually exclusive, I will examine the principles of the Montessori philosophy as set forth by Dr. Maria Montessori in the areas of learners and learning, the learning environment, the curriculum and instructional strategies, and student assessment. After examining these sectors of the Montessori method, I will discuss theoretical possibilities in adapting the Montessori method to the American public school system in the early 21st century. For the purpose of this paper, I will refer to the author of the Montessori method, as "Dr. Montessori" and call the general method or portions thereof as "Montessori."

Maria Montessori and Ludwig Wittgenstein contributed to formulate notions of language in the field of education. Starting from spoken language and moving to the written word, this article aims to unfold the conceptual resemblances in both authors. This parallelism finds common origins in the centrality conferred on the relationship between thought and language. The purpose of this article is to highlight the philosophical and ethical message that accompanies the thoughts of the two authors and that can be summarized that way: an educational environment within which a philosophical and ethical vision of language is promoted allows the child to improve the quality of their own individual and social life.

Abstract/Notes: Cíl: V rámci bakalářské práce bylo provedeno měření jemné motoriky u dětí předškolního věku pravidelně navštěvujících Montessori mateřskou školu. Nejdříve proběhlo porovnání výsledků dětí z Montessori MŠ s hodnotami pražských dětí a poté komparace výsledků zjištěných v Montessori MŠ a hodnot dětí uvedených v diplomové práci Mgr. Ludvíka Valtra. Výsledky a diskuze: V rámci obou porovnání byl patrný statisticky významný rozdíl pouze v motorické dovednosti číslo 1, kdy u prvního zmíněného vzorku vykazovaly ukazatele úrovně jemné motoriky lepší hodnoty u souboru dětí z běžné MŠ a u druhého byla naopak patrná dovednostní převaha dětí z Montessori MŠ. Z výsledků tedy jednoznačně nevyplývá potvrzení ani vyvrácení hypotézy, která předpokládala dosažení jasně lepších výsledků dětmi z Montessori MŠ. / The Aim of the Thesis: We will measure fine motor skills of children in preschool age visiting Montessori kindergarten. We will compare measured results with children who visit common kindergartens. Method: We used battery test MABC-2 for measuring. We also used data from measuring fine motor skills among children from selection of kindergartens in Prague. This research is done by Mgr. Jakub Kokštejn, Ph.D. and has not been publishet yet. We also used data presented by Mr. Ludvík Valtr. We compared results between children from the Montessori kindergarten and children visiting prague kindergartens- sample one. Then we compared our results with results from the Diploma thesis by Mr. Ludvík Valtr- sample two. Results and Discussion: We found statistically significant result only in measuring of motor skill number one. In first mentioned sample we found better results between children from common kindergartens. In second mentioned sample we found better results between children from the Montessori kindergarten. We can not confirm or disprove the hypothesis where we expected significantly better results between children visiting Montessori kindergarten.

Abstract/Notes: In preparation for the centennial of Montessori education, school leaders have a unique responsibility--not only to the communities, but also to Dr. Montessori's memory--to revise the educational practices in a manner that is both respectful of her theories and responsive to a changing educational landscape. This article outlines one example of Whitby School's attempt to live up to the challenge of being an authentic Montessori school, as laid down by its founder, Nancy McCormick Rambusch. The author focuses on determining the characteristics, goals, and structure of the Second Plane of Development and addresses the needs of the children. The responsibilities of the leader of an authentic Montessori school to facilitate the thoughtful interpretation of Montessori philosophy and to foster respectful dialogue about Montessori practice, in the same manner so ardently championed by Nancy McCormick Rambusch. These are, as they always have been, the "inevitable tasks" required of authentic leaders in Montessori education. (Contains 9 figures.)

Abstract/Notes: "MONTESSORI HOLDS FIRST CLASS HERE. Famous Teacher Sways 100 Tots with Personality and Without Words. Using the world famous Montessorl technique, swaying more than 100 little tots by her wonderful personality, and winning their understanding and co-operation without the medium of the spoken word, Madame Marie Montessori today, for the first time since her arrival in Southern California, taught a class of children in the Boyle Heights intermediate school. Three classes, chief among them the Montessori class from the East Seventh street school, assembled at the Boyle Heights Intermediate building shortly before 1 o’clock. All were tiny Montessori students, but most of them spoke only English. Promptly at 1 o’clock, the famous Italian educator, founder of the system which bears her name, appeared. She spoke only Italian. But with every gesture, every smile, a specific communication seemed to pass from her to the little folk gathered round her, and within a few moments after her coming, the room was alive with voluntary activities of the little boys and girls, busy over a self-chosen occupation or game. Miss Katherine Moore, who introduced the Montessori technique in Los Angeles after studying it with its founder in Italy, acted as interpreter for Madame Montessori. Today's class was the first in a two months’ demonstration course to be given in this city by Montessori. It is the first time she has ever established a training course outside of Rome, and eminent educators from all parts of the country are coming to the city to study under her during the term of thls course."
