Abstract/Notes: The article is a presentation of a model of work with the elderly based on the principles of Maria Montessori pedagogy. The described model provides support for elderly people (also with cognitive deficits) not only in retaining maximum independence and highest possible level of intellectual functions, but also in their development through success-focused learning. Chosen elements adopted from Maria Montessori’s pedagogy such as prepared environment, specific didactic materials, and teacher/companion enable the classes’ participants to learn with joy, enjoying autonomy, respect and dignity. / Artykuł jest prezentacją modelu pracy z osobami starszymi opartej na założeniach pedagogiki Marii Montesssori. Opisywany model jest propozycją wsparcia osób starszych (również z deficytami poznawczymi) nie tylko w zachowaniu maksymalnej samodzielności, utrzymaniu funkcji intelektualnych na możliwie wysokim poziomie, ale także ich rozwój poprzez uczenie się zogniskowane na powodzeniu. Zaadaptowane z pedagogiki Marii Montessori wybrane elementy, m.in. przygotowane otoczenie, specyficzne materiały dydaktyczne, osoba nauczyciela/ towarzysza dają uczestnikom zajęć możliwość uczenia się z radością, poczuciem autonomii, szacunku i godności.

Abstract/Notes: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemandirian anak setelah penerapan pembelajaran metode Montessori di Bright Star Makassar School. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain pretest-posttest one group dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak lima belas anak. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa skala observasi kemandirian (behavioral checklist pada kemandirian anak) dengan model skala likert dan guide interview. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistic non parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasilnya menunjukkan p = 0.001 (p < 0.05), artinya penerapan metode Montessori signifikan meningkatkan kemandirian anak di Bright Star Makassar School. Keseluruhan sampel dalam penelitian ini semakin mandiri setelah diterapkan pembelajaran menggunakan metode Montessori dan tidak ada satu anak pun yang tidak mengalami kemajuan kemandirian. Begitu pula berdasarkan data statistik deskriptif ditemukan adanya perbedaan rata-rata skor kemandirian sebelum dengan rata-rata skor kemandirian sesudah perlakuan pembelajaran menggunakan metode Montessori. Penelitian ini membuktikan kemandirian anak dapat ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran metode Montessori. [This study aims to determine the independence of children after the application of the Montessori method of learning at Bright Star Makassar School. This research is an experimental study using a one group pretest-posttest design with fifteen children as research subjects. Data were collected using observation and interviews. The data collection instrument used was an independent observation scale (behavioral checklist on children's independence) with a Likert scale model and an interview guide. Data were analyzed using non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results show p = 0.001 (p < 0.05), meaning that the application of the Montessori method significantly increases the independence of children at Bright Star Makassar School. The entire sample in this study became more independent after learning using the Montessori method was applied and there was not a single child who did not progress in independence. Likewise, based on descriptive statistical data, it was found that there was a difference in the average score of independence before and the average score of independence after learning treatment using the Montessori method. This research proves that children's independence can be increased through the Montessori method of learning.]

Abstract/Notes: Bu çalışmanın amacı alternatif okul olarak nitelendirilen düşünsel yapının Türkiye’deki uygulamalarını incelemektir. Alternatif eğitim, çocuğun mutluluğunu temel prensip olarak görme ve tüm sayıtlılarını bu prensip üzerine kurma gibi iddialarla karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada alternatif okulları cazip kılan nedenler ve Türkiye’deki alternatif eğitim uygulamalarının aslına benzerlik ve farklılıkları incelmiştir. Araştırma nitel bir araştırmadır. Araştırma, İstanbul ilindeki Montessori, Reggio Emilia ve Waldorf yaklaşımını uygulayan eğitim kurumlarında görev yapan öğretmen ve idareciler ile yapılan görüşmeler şeklinde yapılmıştır. Bu amaca en uygun, yarı- yapılandırılmış görüşme formu hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmacının yaptığı gözlemlerde veri olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada alternatif okullarda; okulun genel bilgilerine, öğretmenin görevlerine, sınıf yönetimine, uygulanan eğitim programına, çocuk gelişimine, veli-okul ilişkisine, okul yönetimine ve eğitim modeline ilişkin bulgulardan faydalanılmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda alternatif okulda okuyan çocukların iletişim becerilerinin yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. / The aim of this study is to examine the practices of the intellectual structure, which is described as an alternative school, in Turkey. Alternative education comes up with claims such as seeing the happiness of the child as the basic principle and establishing all its assumptions on this principle. In this study, the reasons that make alternative schools attractive and the similarities and differences of alternative education practices in Turkey are examined. The research is a qualitative research. The research was conducted in the form of interviews with teachers and administrators working in educational institutions that apply Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf approaches in Istanbul. The most suitable semi-structured interview form was prepared for this purpose. It was used as data in the observations made by the researcher. In the research, alternative schools; The findings related to the general information of the school, the duties of the teacher, classroom management, the applied education program, child development, parent-school relationship, school management and education model were used. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the communication skills of the children studying in the alternative school were high.

Abstract/Notes: Maria Montessori (1870-1952) hat ausgehend von einer entwicklungspsychologisch, soziologisch und anthropologisch orientierten Analyse von Kindheit und Jugend ein Schul- und Bildungssystem entworfen, das diesen Ergebnissen auf der Basis der von ihr entwickelten Arbeitsmaterialien folgt. Das Lernen geschieht in vier aufeinanderfolgenden Entwicklungsstufen von jeweils fünf bis sieben Jahren, mit denen aufeinanderfolgende Erziehungspläne korrespondieren: das Montessori-Kinderhaus, die Montessori-Grundschule, der "Erdkinderplan" und die Universität. [Maria Montessori (1870-1952) designed a school and education system based on an analysis of childhood and youth based on developmental psychology, sociology and anthropology, which follows these results on the basis of the working materials she developed.
