Abstract/Notes: Specifically see page 539: "Estimate of $1003. from General Superintendent [H. H.] Barter on cost of proposed Montessori School building, same having been cut down as close as possible. Mr. Davis stated that it had been suggested that a part of the sessions be held down town; the [Executive] Committee did not feel that they could expend this amount, owing to the fact that free admissions were given, and there was no prospect of anything additional at the gates, so Mr. Davis was asked to recommend that all their sessions be held down town."

"The Montessori Institute – During the month of July, San Diego is to receive and entertain as an honored guest of the city, the Exposition and the schools of the city, the famous Dottoressa Maria Montessori, who will bring for that month, her private class in Montessori methods now organized in Los Angeles, and which is not open to other Summer School students. In addition to this private class, there will be on the Exposition grounds, a Montessori demonstration school of children, which will be open for daily observation by all students registered for the summer session. Students will thus be able to get at first hand the Montessori methods and principles."

Questa decisione della illustre donna è stata sollecitata dalla National Education Association, che terrà nel 1915 il suo congresso a San Francisco e da una delle sue allieve, Miss Katherine Moore, di Los Angeles, che sarà una sua attiva cooperatrice.
