Abstract/Notes: Az iskolai tanulás eredményességét nemcsak a kognitív képességek, hanem az egyén motivációs háttere is meghatározza. Az intrinzik, a belső motiváció a megismerő tevékenység egyik energiaforrása, s feltétele a tartós, perspektivikus tanulási magatartás kialakulásának. A szerző azokat a tényezőket tárja fel, melyek előnyösen befolyásolják a tanulók intrinzik motivációjának fenntartását, s bemutatja ennek gyakorlati megvalósulását a Montessori-szemléletű nevelési-oktatási rendszerben. [The effectiveness of school learning is determined not only by cognitive abilities but also by the motivational background of the individual. Intrinsic, intrinsic motivation is one of the energy sources of cognitive activity and a condition for the development of lasting, perspective learning behavior. The author explores the factors that have a beneficial effect on maintaining the intrinsic motivation of students and presents its practical implementation in the Montessori-based education system.]

Abstract/Notes: In 2002, Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) adopted a policy committing itself to develop all schools in the district as community learning centers. In Pleasant Ridge, one of Cincinnati's most racially and socio-economically diverse neighborhoods, the community set itself to the task of rebuilding what had been a failing school that reflected little of the neighborhood's diversity. After-school programming to provide extracurricular opportunities emerged as a top priority, as did health and wellness services. Another priority was the development of the Pleasant Ridge school facility as an environmentally sound and sustainable "green" building. Yet, despite the promise of an environmentally cutting-edge school and partnerships ranging from the YMCA to various health providers, all of this was not sufficient to attract new families to the school. And so, just as the environmental enthusiasts were leading a grassroots effort to dramatically change the plans for the physical facility, a group of young parents became involved in challenging the academic program. This group, mostly parents of infants and toddlers, asked themselves, "What would it take for us to send our children to this new school?" Their collective answer was a conversion to a Montessori program.

Abstract/Notes: L’articolo compie un’analisi di tipo storico educativo che si inserisce all’interno del Progetto di ricerca nazionale Maria Montessori dal passato al presente. Accoglienza e implementazione del suo metodo educativo in Italia nel 150° anniversario della sua nascita, finalizzato alla ricostruzione della figura e dell’opera della studiosa italiana, a partire dall’istituzione della prima Casa dei Bambini nel 1907. In particolare, il presente saggio tiene conto di un buon numero di studi che sono apparsi negli ultimi tempi su Maria Montessori, nonché dell’analisi condotta sulle sue opere al fine di compiere una riflessione sulla portata innovativa del suo percorso scientifico. Dagli studi medici all’azione e alla ricerca in campo pedagogico, l’itinerario intrapreso da Maria Montessori, sul finire dell’Ottocento, fino alla morte, avvenuta nel 1952, presenta un preciso filo conduttore: il suo impegno coniuga il principio di emancipazione femminile con quello più ampio di emancipazione umana, ponendo l’infanzia al centro di un progetto per rendere l’umanità migliore. L’articolo prende in considerazione un preciso periodo della storia della scuola e dell’educazione italiana, il periodo della cosiddetta Età giolittiana, per cogliere i rapporti di Maria Montessori con le personalità pedagogiche del suo tempo, mettendo in luce gli ostacoli che ella incontrò nel realizzare una pedagogia che educasse il bambino alla libertà attraverso la libertà. La sperimentazione del suo progetto ebbe infatti una scarsa diffusione in Italia, soprattutto, come emerge dall’articolo, per le difficoltà incontrate nella formazione di un nuovo modello di insegnante.

Abstract/Notes: L’article analitza la creació, el 1934, del primer Jardí Infantil públic a Colòmbia que va tenir com a model el mètode Montessori. El Jardí va ser el lloc de pràctica de les mestres en formació de l’Institut de Preescolar que va funcionar com una secció de l’Institut Pedagògic Nacional per a senyoretes (IPN), inaugurat el 1927. L’aparició d’aquest Jardí Infantil Montessori es descriurà en el context polític de les primeres tres dècades de segle xx, ressaltant el que va significar en el marc dels debats educatius i pedagògics que tenien lloc entre líders polítics i intel·lectuals dels partits liberal i conservador, en disputa pel poder durant aquests anys. Es farà una descripció de les circumstàncies en què va aparèixer el Jardí Infantil i la institució que el va acollir. La singularitat d’aquest Jardí és precisament que va servir de lloc de pràctica per a les futures mestres de preescolar que es formaven a l’IPN, i això el va convertir en un referent per a difondre el mètode Montessori i va orientar la creació d’altres centres similars a diferents parts del país i, en particular, a la ciutat de Bogotà. / L’article analitza la creació, el 1934, del primer Jardí Infantil públic a Colòmbia que va tenir com a model el mètode Montessori. La aparición de este Jardín Infantil Montessori se describirá en el contexto político de las primeras tres décadas del siglo xx, resaltando lo que significó en el marco de los debates educativos y pedagógicos que se adelantaban entre líderes políticos e intelectuales de los partidos liberal y conservador, en disputa por el poder durante esos años. Se hará una descripción de las circunstancias en las que apareció el Jardín Infantil y la institución que lo acogió. La singularidad de este Jardín es precisamente que sirvió de lugar de práctica para las futuras maestras de preescolar que se formaban en el IPN y, en esa medida, fue un referente para difundir el método Montessori, orientando la creación de otros centros similares en diferentes partes del país y, en particular, en la ciudad de Bogotá.

Abstract/Notes: This article emphasises the internal consistency of Maria Montessori's work by identifying her main educational ideas and clarifying the interrelationships between the individual experimental schools and her writings. An elucidation of the vital part played by the anthropological basis of Maria Montessori's work shows that her entire efforts were directed towards illuminating childhood as the foundation of human development. Within this framework her relationship to Rousseau on the one hand, and to educational reform trends on the other is brought out. It is in this connection that her relations with the World Education Fellowship in general and with Decroly in particular find their significance.
