[ It was in 1907, then aged 37, that she had the opportunity to perfect her teaching method which, from the beginning of the twentieth century, earned her international recognition. This time, the minister asks him to take care of the disadvantaged children of the district of San Lorenzo, a ghetto district of Rome, populated by immigrants from southern Italy for the most part illiterate, where children from 3 to 6 years old are left to fend for themselves. In the only room granted to her, she then created her first casa dei bambini (children's house). She built tables and chairs adapted to their size (a major innovation for the time, which would inspire nursery school equipment) and created tactile and sensory educational material. In the space of two years, a real little miracle takes place. Children, messy and disrespectful, have become "polite and calm". But there is more: they have learned to write and read. New children's homes and schools are emerging in Rome. Observers are coming from everywhere. Montessori will organize internships in London, Nice, Berlin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, San Francisco and even in India, where she settled during World War II ...]

[This report was developed within the scope of the Practice of Supervised Teaching in Pre-School Education, integrated in the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. This study was carried out with a group of twenty-four 4-year-old children and their teacher, from a kindergarten in the district of Porto. It was framed in a qualitative approach, through a case study, with the starting question guiding the investigation: How is Maria Montessori's method present in the organization of the educational environment, in terms of space and materials in kindergarten? As a result of this question, objectives were defined and techniques and instruments for data collection were mobilized: participant observation, document analysis, field notes, the reflective portfolio and the interview with the cooperating educator. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that in the institution where the research took place, the cooperating educator supported some of her educational interventions in Maria Montessori principles, even if not consciously. [The main objective of this study is to present the Completion Works of the Pedagogy Course that bring the contributions of the authors Maria Montessori and Paulo Freire to education in Universities in the greater Florianópolis region, verifying mainly the works that make reference to the concept of autonomy. This research presents a methodology of a basic nature, with a qualitative approach to the problem, with the objective of an exploratory and descriptive study and with technical knowledge of the bibliographic type and with the use of content analysis. This research presents the state of the art of academic productions involving Maria Montessori, Paulo Freire and the concept of autonomy in investigations carried out in public universities in greater Florianópolis. When carrying out the state of the art, we selected five TCCs that bring the aforementioned discussions, in a time frame from 2010 to 2020.1. In addition, the investigation presents the life and work of Maria Montessori and the life and work of Paulo Freire, as well as some notes with the contributions of each of these authors regarding the concept of autonomy. The result obtained in this research signaled how much Freire and Montessori can help in understanding the concept of autonomy, always considering the historical time and the lived reality of the subjects involved. Montessori, from an environment and prepared professionals, understands autonomy as an act of freedom to do. For Freire, autonomy is understood in a democratic way and as an emancipatory freedom. Therefore, from the selected studies, we can observe that autonomy can go beyond knowing how to do routine tasks of food and hygiene and, for subjects to be able to develop their autonomy, they need to exercise freedom of choice and participate in it, but for this, the teacher can also collaborate, in the sense of being committed to the emancipatory process of the human being.]

Abstract/Notes: Montessori's approach to psychoanalysis, particularly her contact with Freud, is analyzed. The subject is developed from a historical perspective, by tracing the direct and indirect influences between the two, and through the analysis of some Montessori's texts closer to psychoanalytic themes. It emerges that both are engaged in the work of “bringing out”, even with different motivations and outcomes, childhood in a new light. For this reason they were both considered uneasy in their time. Moreover, it is outlined that Montessori's relationship
