Abstract/Notes: Il volume riassume le principali linee di ricerca sulla pedagogia montessoriana delineando gli sviluppi che hanno caratterizzato, all'interno dei diversi approcci di studio, l'indagine più recente intorno all'attività scientifica della studiosa italiana. I contributi di ricerca che esso presenta consentono, da una parte, di ricostruire le diverse sfaccetture della complessa personalità scientifica di Maria Montessori, dall'impegno femminista nelle battaglie emancipazioniste a quello di medico e psichiatra attento a cogliere le sollecitazioni e i fermenti culturali del suo tempo, sino alla scelta pedagogica che maturerà con l'esperimento della 'Casa dei Bambini' nel quartiere Lorenzo; dall'altra, di analizzare l'attualità del suo messaggio pedagogico, il contributo teorico fornito all'apertura interculturale dell'educazione e alla definizione dei rapporti tra educazione e pace, gli aspetti metodologici della sua proposta didattica in linea con le più recenti acquisizioni sul processo d'insegnamento-apprendimento. Abstract/Notes: Das Konzept der Kosmischen Erziehung basiert auf überlegungen Maria Montessoris zur Stellung des Menschen im Kosmos, die sie in den 1930er Jahren als großartige Vision vorstellte und in den 1940er Jahren in Indien gemeinsam mit ihrem Sohn Mario zu einem konkreten pädagogischen Konzept ausformte. Maria Montessoris Absicht mit dieser Vision war, den Blick Heranwachsender Menschen auf Interdependenzen naturgeschichtlicher wie historisch-gesellschaftlicher Evolutionsprozesse zu richten, um dadurch in der Erziehung den Grundstein für ein verantwortungsvolles Umgehen mit ökologischen Kreisläufen wie auch für Solidarität zwischen sozialen Gruppen und Nationen zu legen. Dabei wird erstmals Mario Montessoris wichtiger, lange Zeit kaum beachteter Beitrag zur Entwicklung und Etablierung des Konzepts "Kosmische Erziehung" ausdrücklich herausgearbeitet. [The concept of cosmic education is based on Maria Montessori's considerations about the position of man in the cosmos, which she presented as a great vision in the 1930s and which was developed in India in the 1940s together with her son Mario into a concrete educational concept. Maria Montessori's intention with this vision was to focus on the interdependencies of natural history as well as historical-social evolutionary processes in order to lay the foundations for a responsible handling of ecological cycles as well as for solidarity between social groups and nations. Abstract/Notes: This research carried out in order to reveal the Italian researcher Maria Montessori’s understanding on the characteristics of early childhood period has been prepared as an edited work. In this study, the results of the scientific researches given reference or done by Montessori on the nature of the child were given place. In this respect the study sets forth Montessori’s understanding concerning the characteristics of the early childhood period under the light of scientific data. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, it was seen that childhood period is a phase with distinctive characteristics and that children have many extraordinary and temporary skills. However, childhood period is generally perceived by adults only as a transitional period. Within this context, adults and educators were given recommendations. / İtalyan araştırmacı Maria Montessori’nin erken çocukluk döneminin özelliklerine ilişkin anlayışını ortaya koymak amacıyla yapılan bu araştırma, derleme biçiminde yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada çocuğun doğasına ilişkin Montessori’nin atıfta bulunduğu ve bizzat kendisinin yaptığı bilimsel araştırmaların sonuçlarına yer verilmiştir. Çalışma bu yönüyle Montessori’nin erken çocukluk döneminin özelliklerine ilişkin anlayışını bilimsel verilerin ışığında ortaya koymaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre, çocukluk döneminin kendine özgü özellikleri olan bir evre olduğu ve çocukların çok sayıda olağanüstü ve geçici yeteneklere sahip oldukları görülmüştür. Oysa çocukluk dönemi genellikle yetişkinler tarafından sadece bir geçiş aşaması olarak algılanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda yetişkinlere ve eğitimcilere önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
