Abstract/Notes: The following paper focus on the growing interest in structuring the learning environment in order to promote the psycho-social-attitudinal development of the infant. The Montessorian approach enhances a child-friendly environment: it facilitates active participation in the child’s daily life, thus contributing towards a higher level of independence, self- awareness, self-esteem and self-evaluation. The survey conducted in June 2019 shows that in Sicily nowadays less people are adopting Montessorian approach into the early childhood structures.

Abstract/Notes: The relationships and the connections between people, education and school spaces have attracted the interest, the study and the research of the great educators of the 'new school' and of the activism. What is left from these studies in these years? Are the proposals of the great educators of the past still current? How are their reflections interpreted today? Educational opportunities will be analyzed through the proposals and experimentations made over the years by great educators as Mary Montessori and Dewey, which have revolutionized the school practices, then followed by many others who have helped to suggest new ways of ‘doing school’. In addition to Maria Montessori, and John Dewey, will be discussed reflections of: Carleton Washburne, Rosa e Carolina Agazzi, Maria Boschetti Alberti, Célestine Freinet, Roger Cousinet, Luigi Volpicelli, Luigi Romanini, Renato Coèn, Francesco De Bartolomeis, Loris Malaguzzi.

Il “bambino trionfante” di Maria Montessori. Storie di bambini piccoli e comportamento adulto.
Abstract/Notes: After a brief introduction to Maria Montessori’s bio through selected life pills concerning some significant periods in her life, as reported by original chronicles or by authors who wrote about her, the Author’s contribution is aimed at giving a satisfactory representation of the Montessori’s approach to the “triumphant child” and of the adult behavior which we would expect in order to ensure effective help to the child self-development and joy for life. The framework is developed using a selection of situations and/or episodes of real life that actually happened, sometimes to Montessori herself, as described in the Montessori’s book “The secret of childhood”. The specific intention is that of bringing the selected content to the attention of the reader, allowing wider reflection about effective, respectful, non-invasive adult behavior compared with the child’s needs from different points of view, as well as giving the reader himself the oppor- tunity to elaborate further reflections and conclusions independently.

Abstract/Notes: The paper focuses on the connection between the Montessorian principles related to child education and the school-family educational co-responsibility for the common construction of meaning. This combination can represent a new keystone of school architecture for the renewal of the educational fact. A practical-operational tool is the school-family educational pact. A survey has shown the correlation and the practical implications of the two aspects according to teachers and parents.
