In our research work we are interested in the heritage of the pedagogies of Maria Montessori and Friedrich Fröbel in the Valais child classes, respectively in Valais Romand and Haut-Valais. To do this, we first propose a brief historical part. This part has made it possible to understand how the names of Maria Montessori and Friedrich Fröbel entered the pedagogy of our country and that of our canton. In addition, we traced the evolution of children's institutions in our country. Given that we seek to define the heritage of these two original pedagogies in teaching in kindergarten today, we had to describe what kindergarten is today. For this, we used the study plans in force in our canton, namely the Plan d’études romand (Valais romand) and the Lehrplan 21 (Haut Valais). Then, we presented the principles and characteristics that govern the pedagogies of Maria Montessori and Friedrich Fröbel. The concepts highlighted allowed us to establish two summary tables of the concepts of the pedagogues which were our main tools for the analysis of the data. All our empirical part allowed us to analyze the concepts of the pedagogies of Maria Montessori and Friedrich Fröbel thanks to the speeches of the teachers met and to interpret them. At the end of this work, we obtained results that allowed us to answer our research question.

[Maria Montessori is one of the most famous and celebrated Italian pedagogists in the world. Due to its speed and geographical extent, the spread of her scientific pedagogy can surely be described as extraordinary, even more since we talk about a woman’s work in the beginning of the twentieth century. It was Il Metodo della Pedagogia Scientifica applicato all’educazione infantile nelle Case dei Bambini, published in Italy in 1909, that brought Montessori to the forefront of the world scene, allowing her to be acclaimed internationally as one of history’s great pioneering educators. Since 1912, the number of translations multiplied, to the point of covering, before the end of the First World War, the European and American scene. In addition, international courses for the training of teachers (the first was organized in Italy in 1913), allowed the spread of the method in India, South America, Austrialia and Asia. My research focuses on the comparative analysis of the Metodo’s first translations, in particular the American edition (1912), the English edition (1912), the Swiss edition (1912) and the French edition (1916), placed in the historical, social, cultural and pedagogical context of reference. Furthermore, great part of the research is dedicated to the many figures who surrounded Maria Montessori and worked as hard as she did to help in the spreading of both her thought and book internationally. Indeed, editors, translators, journalists and intellectuals, as well as politicians and ambassadors played an essential role in her successful career. The project aimed to focus on Montessori’s process of building a scientific and cultural work constantly influenced by a plurality of different cultures, traditions, languages and voices, as well as on the hard work of the author to defend her philosophy from any external interference aimed at distorting it.]

[In the Italian pedagogical panorama of the twentieth century, Maria Montessori was among the most interesting female figures. She has interpreted the figure of the child with care and insight, clarifying the significant role that the environment plays in her cognitive and emotional formation and in her "absorbing" mind. The starting point of her studies was The Method of Scientific Pedagogy (1909), from which it emerged clearly that science had to study the process of formation of the child's personality in its social interaction. Montessori claimed the rights of childhood in front of the adult world, highlighting the ancient error, from a psychological and educational point of view, of making the child assume attitudes and mental habits that do not conform to her child's nature. For this purpose, the scholar organized her educational environment, that is the kindergarten, as an ideal place where the child, in full freedom of action and appropriately stimulated, could have his educational experiences. A re-reading of Maria Montessori's thought has made possible some feedbacks with current pedagogical problems that have had repercussions in contemporary Pedagogy, for example, the relationship between environment and education, the organization of the teaching-learning process, the use of procedures, of techniques and materials related to a real pedagogical intervention.]

Abstract/Notes: İtalyan eğitimci ve tıp doktoru Maria Montessori'nin 'çocuğun doğası ve eğitimi' hakkındaki düşüncelerinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmada onun ortaya koyduğu metot, eğitimin çeşitli unsurları açısından ele alınıp incelenmiştir. / In the study which is performed in order to examine the thoughts of Maria Montessori who is an Italian educationist and medical doctor, about the nature and education of the child; the method which is introduced by her is considered and examined through the different facts of education.
