Abstract/Notes: In the last issue of Montessori Life (Volume 29, Number 4, Winter 2018, p. 25), we reported on AMS's Rebuild Your School campaign, for Montessori schools impacted by the late-summer hurricanes. Since publication, more donations have come in-bringing the total amount we received to $67,800. [...]students at Country Meadows Montessori School, an Associate-Member school, in Gurnee, IL, raised funds for hurricane relief through their Spare Change Challenge-an annual event in which coins earn points equal to their value (a nickel = 5 points, etc.). Two retired Montessori teachers drove a van full of Montessori materials and care kits to Texas from Oregon; an intercity Charleston public school class raised $570 and personally presented it to her when she was there; a head of school from Virginia flew to Texas with 3 suitcases of donations to deliver them personally to Betsy; and one school administration matched the money earned by the students.
