Abstract/Notes: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the Learning Cycle 7E learning model assisted by Montessori media on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students in class IV hearing senses. This research is motivated by the existence of a phenomenon where students have difficulty understanding material about the sense of hearing which is quite complicated because of the many terms used. Science subjects in elementary schools are generally taught by lecture and assignment methods, this will make students feel bored faster in class and unable to absorb the information conveyed correctly. Therefore, research was made to show how effective the Learning Cycle 7E model assisted by Montessori media was on students' critical thinking skills. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods. The research design developed was a quasi-experimental design model with nonequivalent control group design. The sample used was fourth grade students at SDN Sukarasa. As for the data processing techniques, the authors use descriptive techniques to obtain conclusions from this study. As a result, there is a positive relationship from the Montessori media-assisted LC 7E learning model to students' critical thinking skills. This is also supported by the opinions of experts on how effective learning can be done, one of which is by using a fun learning model so that children's thinking abilities increase.

Abstract/Notes: Learning media has an important role in learning mathematics because mathematics is an abstract science and requires a deep understanding of concepts. Students have difficulty in understanding mathematics due to the teacher's monotonous explanation in class without any learning media or epraga tools. Fun learning media is interactive learning media, which allows students to use the media themselves and interact both with other students and with teachers. One example of interactive learning media is Montessori learning media. Based on observations at partner locations, it was found that mathematics teachers in elementary and secondary schools have never used Montessori learning media, therefore training on the use of Montessori-based learning media is needed for elementary and secondary school teachers so that classroom learning runs optimally in accordance with learning objectives. Training on the use of Montessori-based learning media has a positive impact on teachers, it can be seen from the final questionnaire of the training participants provide positive feedback, to this training activity, namely with data interpretation of 96%.

Abstract/Notes: Maria Montessori’s educational proposal had a revolutionary significance since its origins.  It freed childhood from the raising social marginalization  to a “golden age”.  In a period marked by widespread  national-popular illiteracy, a “New Education” originated exactly among the poorest social classes, represented a valuable tool for the literacy and regimentation of the masses to the rising fascist ideology. Montessori avoided it, paying with obstructionism and discredit. However, even today, Montessorian theory keeps on gaining credit as a “pedagogy of resistance” to the technical and technological revolution of information and communication. She is not even adverse to the use of technology in daily life or in education. Far from stopping the technical progress and the social technological literacy, it is a question of stemming the educational deprivation of the young people experience, rediscovering an active, direct and participative learning, with a specific attention to the early childhood. Experience offers a good and attractive alternative to the standstill caused by the overuse of the mass communication means. Preserving the 0-3 years children from the early abuse of technology, provides a “dilating education” of childhood’s fields of experience and evolutive possibilities. In this way the child is ready to approach the technologies, in order to enjoy without suffering their growing capacities.
