Abstract/Notes: Along the decline COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, the implementation of Limited Face-to-face Learning (PTM) in education units was again carried out by observing the implementation of strict health protocols by education units. In the implementation, various problems were found, such as the lack of awareness of students in implementing health protocols. The solutions offered by the Community Service team to support preventing the spread of COVID-19 and improving healthy lifestyles include developing a health protocol ambassador program through a peer teaching program with the Montessori method. This activity was carried on August 8, 2022 with assistance and monitoring carried out until August 22, 2022 at SD Muhammadiyah 01 Medan with a total sample of 60 people. The results showed an increase before and after the activity, before the activity was carried out as many as 31 (51.7%) respondents were at a moderate level of knowledge, 37 (61.7%) positive attitudes and 32 (53.3%) good behavior respondents. After the activities were carried out, 47 (78.3%) respondents had high knowledge, 60 (100%) positive attitudes and 46 (76.7%) good behavior. Therefore, this method is effective in increasing the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of students' awareness about health protocols and prevention of COVID-19 transmission.

Abstract/Notes: This action research project was conducted to investigate the impact of merging the literacy program The Daily 5 with the Montessori Method of reading instruction. This project was intended to study the independent reading stamina of the students. It was conducted in a public Montessori School with kindergarten aged students from an early childhood classroom. There were 13 students participating, six girls and seven boys. Pre-assessment data was gathered in the forms of a parent survey and a baseline student reading assessment. Student stamina was recorded on a daily log and student reflections were recorded once a week. After the project was complete, the parents and students were surveyed for final reflection. The results show that when students are able to choose their own books, their stamina for reading improves. More research needs to be done to investigate the impact of the other four areas from the Daily 5 model in combination with Montessori Literacy.

Abstract/Notes: This study investigated the impact of Montessori didactic method and direct instruction method on the self-esteem of pupils with hearing impairment in Lagos State, Nigeria. !e employed pre- and post-tests quasi-experimental research design. A total of 29 pupils with hearing impairment were purposively selected and participated in the study with 9, 10, 10 participants in treatment and control groups through non-bias randomisation. Index of Self-Esteem (ISE) developed by Hudson (1982) was adapted and revalidated with the reliability of 0.77 and 0.76, respectively using concurrent validity and test retest reliability. !e treatment lasted nine weeks. !e study revealed that self-esteem significantly differs among pupils with hearing impairment across the experimental groups. !e Montessori didactic group had a higher mean score than the direct instruction method, but both were better when compared to the control group. In addition, the experimental group did not significantly differ due to gender. It was recommended that teachers of pupils with hearing impairment should use both Montessori Didactic and Direct Instructions to reduce children’s social and emotional impairment and increase their social functioning
