Abstract/Notes: In questo lavoro di tesi sono stati delineati i tratti salienti dell’approccio educativo montessoriano, evidenziandone da una parte la profonda complessità nonché attualità che lo caratterizzata e dall’altra le numerose conferme sia dalla didattica considerata innovativa, sia dalle scienze psicologiche. È stato inoltre presentato un percorso di ricerca volto a monitorare la recente sperimentazione dell'approccio pedagogico montessoriano in alcune scuole primarie della provincia di Trento. La ricerca é stata condotta utilizzando sia strumenti di natura qualitativa (come una check list osservativa prodotta ad hoc per la ricerca), sia questionari standardizzati, con l'intento di confrontare i dati raccolti con un campione rappresentativo di una più vasta realtà scolastica. [In this thesis work, the salient features of the Montessori educational approach have been outlined, highlighting on the one hand the profound complexity and relevance that characterizes it and on the other the numerous confirmations both from the teaching considered innovative and from the psychological sciences. A research path was also presented aimed at monitoring the recent experimentation of the Montessori pedagogical approach in some primary schools in the province of Trento. The research was conducted using both qualitative tools (such as an observational check list produced ad hoc for the research), and standardized questionnaires, with the aim of comparing the data collected with a representative sample of a wider school environment.]

Abstract/Notes: In 1951, Maria Montessori said that there would be a great future for medicine if it started to cure the patients’ souls, rather than just their bodies. What does this statement mean? Medicine has to turn into something different than what it currently is? The aim of this article is to contribute to a possible interpretation of Montessori’s argument, trying to overcome the separation between the medical and the pedagogical meanings of care. Starting from the data gathered through an ethnographical investigation carried out with a Special-Pedagogy perspective in many hospital divisions dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of Rare Illnesses, the author here discusses some critical aspects that affect medical actions of diagnosis and treatment dynamics. In order to set an interdisciplinary dialogue between medicine and pedagogy, this study provides some possible educational horizons for overcoming clinical mechanisms and elements that influence the identity development of the disabled person.

Abstract/Notes: Il presente lavoro di ricerca si iscrive in un progetto psico-pedagogico e architettonico di ridefinizione di un ex edificio (ONMI) di proprietà comunale, convertito in spazio per l’infanzia. Questo lavoro ha visto una collaborazione strutturata e collaborativa tra gli addetti ai lavori, i pedagogisti (educatori, operatori e coordinatori) e i tecnici (architetti). Dalla circolarità tra prassi e teoria, ne deriva un duplice lavoro: da una parte una review della letteratura scientifica in campo pedagogico sull’organizzazione e la gestione degli spazi per i bambini delle fasce di età più piccole, riletti in chiave problematica e critica seguendo le indicazioni e le suggestioni educative di Maria Montessori; dall’altra parte un lavoro di ricerca a carattere esplorativo avente come oggetto le rappresentazioni individuali e collettive inerenti la progettazione, la pianificazione e la realizzazione di spazi per l’infanzia ad opera di equipe multidisciplinari. / This research work is part of a psycho-pedagogical and architectural project of redefinition of a former building (ONMI) owned by the city, converted into a space for children. This work has seen a strict and structured collaboration among the experts, pedagogues (educators, and administrators) and technicians (architects). Considering the link between practice and theory, it has been done a double work: one is a review of the scientific literature in the field of education on the organization and management of space for children of the different ages, within the framework of the criticism, following the information and suggestions for educational practices of Maria Montessori; the second is a research work aimed at the exploration of the individual and collective representations related to the design, planning and implementation of space for children in multidisciplinary teams.
