In this essay, through the use of an extensive documentation, based on bibliographical and archival sources, a red thread has been identified between two female personalities, who are very different from each other, not only from a generational point of view: Maria Montessori e Margherita Zoebeli. Their initiatives in the educational field, respectively during the first and the second world war, developed starting from the needs of a childhood tragically marked by the war. In their experiences it is possible to find the cornerstone of what we can define today as “Emergency Pedagogy”.

[This paper tries to explain Islamic education from the perspective of Maria Montessori, who is a figure of children's education who devotes almost her entire life to children. Maria Montessori has a basic principle regarding this Montessori Method, which is very focused on children as children centers and adults as guides. According to him, a phase of life at the beginning is very influential on the phases of the next life which means that the experiences experienced by a child early in life are very influential on their maturity as well as the treatment that children get from childhood will greatly affect the subsequent development of children. Youth as Muslims, it has become an obligation for parents and educators to instill Islamic values in their children. And so that these Islamic values can be absorbed perfectly, it must be taught from an early age as well. Rasulullah has emphasized the responsibility of parents towards children in their sayings.]

[Children love to imitate activities that they see adults doing in their daily lives. Maria Montessori already observed this and integrated appropriate exercises into her pedagogy - »The exercises of practical life« are an integral part of Montessori pedagogy. The exercises in this book help children to successfully master important learning and development processes. The book deals with this topic in detail and presents a large number of exercises that cannot be found in any other book in this abundance. In addition to these practical ideas, the most important aspects of Maria Montessori's pedagogy are explained in a theoretical part and the embedding of the "practical life exercises" within the pedagogy is made clear. The book is particularly suitable for pedagogical specialists in elementary school and in the field of curative education. But also parents, grandparents, childminders and playgroup leaders find interesting impulses in it.]

[Montessori is perhaps the most widespread cultural and commercial made-in-Italy in the world. And more copied, contaminated, opposed, reworked, over the course of a century of its history. The themes addressed in this book are those of Maria Montessori's relationship with the Catholic world and with Theosophy, the promotion of the Method in the Masonic culture of early twentieth-century Italy, its acceptance or rejection by Italian positivists and pedagogists, of its fast but somewhat wild diffusion in the contemporary world. Up to - for the future - the possible exploitations, the distortions, its enormous possibilities.]

[The decade Maria Montessori spent in India was one of the most enriching periods of her life. During that phase, she wrote and published The Absorbent Mind of the Child, as well as a number of fundamental books in her career. In The Education of Human Potentialities, she developed the principles of the “Cosmic Education”, a curriculum which she adapted for elementary students. Invited in 1939 to give lectures by the president of the Theosophical Society, Maria Montessori and her son were trapped by the outbreak of World War II and its subsequent development. She was 69 when she arrived to Madras. She stayed ten years. There was a Maria Montessori before India, and a much deeper one later. When she returned to Europe, when asked what she had done in India, she declared, “I think I’ve learned how to learn, as if I were a Child”.]
