Abstract/Notes: Mnogi pedagogi, filozofi ali celo zdravniki so zaradi nezadovoljstva s tradicionalno šolo in šolskim sistemom poskušali ponuditi svoje pedagoške koncepte za izboljšanje izobraževalnega sistema. Čeprav alternativno izobraževanje od 19. stoletja deluje skupaj z državnim izobraževalnim sistemom, ti modeli pogosto niso znani širšemu krogu ljudi in starši običajno niso seznanjeni s ponudbo šol, kar vodi do zavrnitve takšnega sistema izobraževanja. [Dissatisfied with the traditional school and the system, many pedagogues, philosophers or even doctors have tried to offer their pedagogical concepts to improve the education system. The tendency to change the traditional content-focused school has led to the creation of pedagogical pluralism, which in a democratic society is inevitable and constantly changing. There are numerous pedagogical concepts that are approaching students and put them at the heart of the educational process. Although alternative education has been operating since the 19th century, along with the state education system, these models are often not known to a wider circle of people, and parents are usually not familiar with what schools offer, which leads to the refusal of such an education system. In order to clarify and highlight the alternative schools in Croatia, we first examined their historical development, which was studied in the context of reform pedagogy at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Today, only montessori and waldorf alternative schools operate in Croatia, which are the main creators of pluralism in education, which is still in its early stages of development. For this reason, this task is a modest contribution to spreading the ideas of alternative education.]

Abstract/Notes: The goal of this research was to explore teachers' and university students' perceptions of material, cognitive and affective-motivational characteristics as well as the acceptance of didactic materials used in Montessori schools. It has been found that both teachers and university students are not familiar enough with alternative pedagogical concepts and believe there's an insufficient number of them in Croatia. While teachers prefer Cosmic Education and Mathematics materials, university students like Language Education materials more, although teachers show more willingness to use Language Education materials in teaching whereas university students use Cosmic Education materials more readily. Both university students and teachers find it most demanding to make Cosmic Education materials, but they also believe such materials to be most concrete. The results have shown that both university students and teachers are more willing to use in teaching such positively evaluated examples of Montessori didactic materials, which have been explored in this research, when they believe them to be valuable, desirable, necessary and useful.

[The introductory part talks about the concept of childhood, prenatal psychology and different educational approaches to a small child. The beginnings of the development of kindergartens in Croatia and the results of changing the context and their educational practice are presented. Then, alternative kindergartens (Montessori, Waldorf, Raggio) were presented, followed by a proposal for a speech therapy kindergarten in which children's development would be supported by speech therapy values.]

Abstract/Notes: This paper lends insight into the fundamental postulates of Montessori pedagogyand definitions of contemporary educational neuroscience, focusing on the needsand solutions of contemporary didactic approaches. By presenting the results ofcontemporary researches, the paper connects the achievements of Montessoripedagogic methods and strategies with the scientific indicators of educationalneuroscience about the manners of positive impact on the development of anindividual. The results of the educational neuroscience research will corroborate thepostulates of Montessori pedagogy that state that understanding the developmentalstages of upbringing, individual competences, and specificities of each child areimportant for upbringing. Specific cases will be used to emphasize that, apartfrom the cognitive competence, it is essential to develop psychomotor and affectivecompetences, meaning that the development of these personality spheres isconnected and interdependent. By providing the pedagogic perspective, the paperpoints to the need for further deliberation on how to shape an optimal curriculum. The paper suggests that various social and technological changes are reasons toconsider pedagogic methods, strategies, and approaches of Montessori, which is alsosupported and substantiated by contemporary educational neuroscience.Key words: didactics; Montessori pedagogy; neurodidactics; neuroscience.
