Abstract/Notes: The purpose of this qualitative case study was to investigate why the Montessori approach has been viewed as a culturally congruent educational model by some Hawaiian language immersion and culture-based (HLIC) educators and how aspects of it have been used in HLIC classrooms. Data collection included semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with 40 Hawaiian educators, document analysis, and visits to 12 school sites. Using grounded theory methodology, similarities in core teaching strategies based on shared values and worldview emerged. Challenges and nuanced distinctions were also revealed, along with an emerging and uniquely Hawaiian pedagogy. Findings indicate that educators and researchers should take worldview and beliefs into account when designing programs and creating both preservice and inservice training opportunities.

Abstract/Notes: Every country is currently concerned with education since it alone has the power to create a new world and offer up possibilities for positive outcomes. Three notable female educators from three separate eras who contributed to the advancement of education in the west have been recognised. Through their quick work in education, Mary Wollstonecraft (1759–1797), Maria Montessori (1870–1952), and Nel Noddings (1929–2022) have brought important concerns relating to women and children's education to light. These three women educators were connected by their interest in education despite being born in various eras and regions of the world. In this paper the researchers have tried to bring the educational thoughts of these iconic educationalists into one frame, making it a comprehensive study of educators from different eras.

Abstract/Notes: During the transition period in Hungary the role of the market has become more significant, and several market elements have appeared in education, as well. The growing social demand for schooling resulted in the huge expansion of secondary and higher education. Schools try to match the demand with the supply in a colourful variety of programmes. However, public education in Hungary struggles with very great problems of inequalities.
