Abstract/Notes: Zusammenfassung. Fortschritte in Medizin und Pflegewissenschaft, demographische und rechtliche Umbrüche stellen die Pflegepädagogik vor neue Herausforderungen. Handlungsorientierung und Lehrende, die den Lern- und Entwicklungsprozess ihrer Lernenden fördern, sind gefragt. Eine Antwort auf diese Problemlagen in der Pflegeausbildung könnte ein altes, jedoch ungeahnt aktuelles pädagogisches Konzept liefern – die Montessori-Pädagogik, die vor allem über eine solidarische Lehrerpersönlichkeit implementiert werden kann. Action orientation and teachers who promote the learning and development process of their learners are in demand. Abstract/Notes: Play and work are, besides science, two basic forms of human activity. Play is not only the basic form of the activity of a small child, but also the organization of the educational process in a kindergarten. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to answer the question of why Maria Montessori calls a child’s activity work and not play. The explanation of this issue is carried out in two stages. The first is a literature review, on the basis of which the most important issues of the contemporary understanding of the concept of play and work are formulated. The second is an analysis of M. Montessori’s views and comparing them with the assumptions about play and work. The work of a child according to M. Montessori leads to their independence, allowing them to build relationships with others and discover the meaning of their actions, as well as objects in their immediate vicinity. The intention of M. Montessori was to appreciate the child’s actions, which promote holistic and integral development. Her views can be considered as convergent with contemporary concepts in primary education, focusing on subjectivity. She created a well-prepared environment for the child to be able to choose their own activity, termed as work. / Zabawa i praca są, obok nauki, dwiema podstawowymi formami działalności ludzkiej. Zabawa jest nie tylko podstawową formą aktywności małego dziecka, ale też organizacji procesu wychowawczego w przedszkolu. Dlatego celem artykułu jest udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytanie, dlaczego Maria Montessori nazywa działalność dziecka pracą, a nie zabawą. Wyjaśnienie tego zagadnienia jest realizowane w dwóch etapach. Pierwszy to przegląd literatury, na podstawie której sformułowano najważniejsze kwestie współczesnego rozumienia pojęć zabawy i pracy. Drugi to analiza poglądów M. Montessori i porównanie ich z założeniami dotyczącymi zabawy i pracy. Praca dziecka według M. Montessori prowadzi do jego samodzielności, pozwala na budowanie więzi z innymi oraz na odkrywanie i nadawanie sensu swojemu działaniu, jak i przedmiotom znajdującym się w najbliższym otoczeniu. Intencją M. Montessori było dowartościowanie działania dziecka, które sprzyja holistycznemu i integralnemu rozwojowi. Jej poglądy można uznać za zbieżne ze współczesnymi koncepcjami edukacji dziecka, stawiającymi na podmiotowość. Włoszka tworzy odpowiednio przygotowane otoczenie do tego, by dziecko mogło dokonywać wyboru własnej aktywności, która została nazwana pracą.

Abstract/Notes: In accordance with the constructivist concept of didactics, the teacher’s duty is to support students in acquiring tools for understanding the world and building resources of their own knowledge and skills. On the other hand, the task of education is to help each individual in developing his ability to become a holistic human being, not just a tool for economics. The charge directed most often towards the Polish school is failure to perform this task, which is manifested by the poor preparation of young people to live and work, to the development challenges, but also the threats of the modern world. It is worth looking for solutions that will create opportunities for children and young people to develop according to their abilities. One of such solutions has the pedagogy of Maria Montessori emphasizing the importance of the child’s activity in the process of learning. The article compared briefly the hebratism with the trend of “new upbringing” to which Maria Montessori’s pedagogy is included, and further considerations have been referred to the modern knowledge of how the brain is taught. / W myśl konstruktywistycznej koncepcji dydaktyki powinnością nauczyciela jest wspieranie uczniów w zdobywaniu przez nich narzędzi poznania i rozumienia świata oraz budowaniu zasobów własnej wiedzy i umiejętności. Zadaniem edukacji jest natomiast pomoc każdej jednostce w rozwijaniu zdolności w stawaniu się całościowym bytem ludzkim, a nie jedynie narzędziem dla ekonomii. Zarzutem kierowanym najczęściej w kierunku polskiej szkoły jest niewywiązywanie się z tego zadania, co przejawia się słabym przygotowaniem młodych ludzi do życia i pracy, do wyzwań rozwojowych, ale i zagrożeń współczesnego świata. Warto poszukiwać takich rozwiązań, które stworzą dzieciom i młodzieży możliwość rozwoju na miarę ich możliwości. Jednym z takich rozwiązań dysponuje pedagogika Marii Montessori, podkreślając znaczenie aktywności dziecka w procesie jego uczenia się. W artykule krótko porównano hebratyzm z nurtem „nowego wychowania”, do którego zaliczana jest pedagogika Marii Montessori, a dalsze rozważania odniesione zostały do współczesnej wiedzy o tym, jak uczy się mózg.

Abstract/Notes: This study is a qualitative research based on literature review, which aims at evaluating the reading and writing education within the framework of the Montessorian system. In this research study, the process that children encounter while they learn to read and write in Montessorian schools is examined in detail in a progressive manner. Materials used in the educational process constitute a significant part of this study. In other words, this study mainly includes the most important elements of the Montessorian Method. It also intends to outline the Montessorian Method with its main features. / Montessori sistemi çerçevesinde okuma ve yazma eğitiminin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılan bu çalışma, literatür taramaya dayalı nitel bir araştırmadır. Bu araştırmada Montessori okullarında eğitim gören çocukların okuma ve yazmayı öğrenirken karşılaştıkları süreçler ayrıntılı olarak aşamalı bir biçimde ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın önemli bir bölümünü eğitim sürecinde kullanılan materyaller oluşturmaktadır. Başka bir deyişle çalışmada ağırlıklı olarak Montessori Metodu’nun en önemli unsurlarına yer verilmiştir. Aynı zamanda bu çalışmayla Montessori Metodu’nun ana hatlarıyla tanıtılması da amaçlanmıştır.
