Abstract/Notes: La presente investigación tuvo como propósito determinar que la capacitación docente basada en la teoría Montessori, influye en la atención de la discapacidad intelectual leve en niños de educación general básica de Guayaquil. Se sustentó teóricamente con los aportes de Montessori (1907), Lee (2018), Molina (2012, 2015), Chiavenato (2000), Rodríguez y Ramírez (1997), OMS (2021), AARM (2020),Tünnermann (2011), (Aubrey, 2010), UNESCO (2006), Cossentino (2005), Díaz (2002), Ministerio de Educación del Ecuador (2011), entre otros. La investigación se catalogó como experimental-aplicada, con nivel netamente explicativo. El diseño se clasificó como pre-experimental, con modelo pre-test/post-test con un solo grupo. La población estuvo constituida por 50 profesionales de educación general básica; debido al número finito y conocido de la población se empleó un censo poblacional. Como técnica de recolección de datos se utilizó la encuesta y como instrumento, el cuestionario. El análisis descriptivo de los datos se realizó mediante la confección de tablas de frecuencia absoluta (fa) y porcentaje (%), medidas de posición (promedio, mediana, mínima y máxima), dispersión (desviación estándar) y varianza. Asimismo, se realizó un análisis inferencial acerca de la población, basándose en los datos recolectados y la contrastación de las hipótesis planteadas. Los resultados evidenciaron una diferencia significativa de 19,02, entre los resultados del pre y post test, con un nivel de significancia de 0,000 < 0,05. Por tanto, se aceptó la hipótesis de investigación (Hi) y se rechazó la hipótesis nula (Ho), llegando a la conclusión que la propuesta basada en teoría Montessori influye de forma significativa y positiva en la atención de la discapacidad intelectual leve en niños de educación general básica de Guayaquil. El presente estudio representa un gran aporte para el sistema educativo en lo concerniente al área de la discapacidad e inclusión.

Abstract/Notes: Maria Montessori graduated in medicine from the University of Rome and subsequently took part in the research activities of Roman medical anthropology scholars, some of whom were leading exponents in Italian science and culture. Giuseppe Sergi was a major figure in the national public debate regarding some of the main concerns in Italian society, focusing on the causes and consequences of poverty and illiteracy, and the need for a more effective education system. The ideas of Sergi and other scholars (C. Bonfigli, S. De Sanctis, N. D'Alfonso) regarding these problems influenced Maria Montessori. Indeed, she was inspired and encouraged by Sergi himself to direct her activities and research to the field of childcare and education. Medical anthropology was therefore an essential element in the formation of the young Montessori, and the genesis of her pedagogy and method. Teaching at the Institute of Education for Women in Rome represented an opportunity to develop a relevant “pedagogical anthropology” for her scientific evolution, even though Maria Montessori herself would later leave it behind. / Maria Montessori es va llicenciar en medicina a la Universitat de Roma i posteriorment va participar en la investigació amb erudits romans d’antropologia mèdica, alguns dels quals eren els principals exponents del món científic i cultural italià. Giuseppe Sergi, en particular, va estar molt present en el debat públic nacional sobre alguns dels principals problemes de la societat italiana: les causes i les conseqüències de la pobresa i l'analfabetisme i la necessitat d'un sistema educatiu més eficaç. Les idees de Sergi i altres científics (C. Bonfigli, S. De Sanctis, N. D'Alfonso) sobre aquests problemes van influir en Maria Montessori. La jove doctora va ser inspirada i animada pel mateix Sergi a dirigir les seves activitats i investigacions en el camp de la cura i l’educació infantil. L’antropologia mèdica va ser, per tant, un element essencial en la formació de la jove Montessori i també en la gènesi de la seva pedagogia, així com del mètode. L'ensenyament a l’Institut femení del Magisteri de Roma va ser una oportunitat per desenvolupar una "antropologia pedagògica" rellevant per al seu creixement científic, fins al punt que la mateixa Maria Montessori la va superar i abandonar durant el procés de maduració del seu pensament. / María Montessori se graduó en medicina por la Universidad de Roma y posteriormente participó en la investigación con eruditos romanos de antropología médica, algunos de los cuales fueron exponentes distinguidos del mundo científico y cultural italiano. Giuseppe Sergi, en particular, estuvo muy presente en el debate público nacional sobre algunos de los principales problemas de la sociedad italiana, las causas y consecuencias de la pobreza y el analfabetismo y la necesidad de un sistema educativo más eficaz. Las ideas de Sergi y otros investigadores (C. Bonfigli, S. De Sanctis, N. D'Alfonso) sobre estos problemas influyeron en María Montessori y, por otro lado, la joven doctora se inspiró y fue animada por el propio Sergi para dirigir sus actividades e investigación en el campo del cuidado infantil y la educación. La antropología médica fue, por tanto, un elemento esencial en la formación de la joven Montessori y también en la génesis de su pedagogía, así como del método. La enseñanza en el Instituto femenino del Magisterio de Roma fue una oportunidad para desarrollar una "antropología pedagógica" relevante para su crecimiento científico, aunque la misma María Montessori la superó y abandonó durante el proceso de la maduración de su pensamiento.

Abstract/Notes: The paper presents a description and comparison of the undergraduate student teacher training and kindergarten teacher continuing education in the Montessori Method of Education encompassed in formal education in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the paper aims at depicting Montessori education, still an attractive pedagogical direction in both countries, in a thorough, unconventional and innovative way. Even though Montessori education has been rooted worldwide for centuries, in Slovakia and the Czech Republic it presents relatively new alternative education, considering that an integrated school system, introduced in these countries in 1948 and lasting almost to the end of20thcentury, did not allow the use of other alternatives in addition to the mainstream education. A description of (preschool) education in both countries and an analysis of kindergarten teacher's personality and his/her lesson plans are included in the theoretical part of the paper. The empirical part contains pedagogical research of qualitative design, conducted in Slovakia and the Czech Republic in order to identify and map the current state, level and possibilities of formal education of pre-service and in-service teachers in Slovak and Czech kindergartens.

Abstract/Notes: Maria Montessori’s pedagogy is considered a “classics” of Education Sciences. In this contribution, a survey conducted with three different groups of subjects attending University lectures or in-service Montessori training courses is reported. Main research purpose is to discover background knowledge and perceived meanings of each group concerning the Montessori Method and its main characteristics. Data collected from the three groups under investigation are compared to identify the most macroscopic differences and / or similarities. Through the graphs produced, first reflections and conclusions are attempted, at the same time readers are invited to build their own opinions inferring other meanings or conclusions thanks to data and reading tools provided.

Abstract/Notes: "San Francisco, Cal., June 26 - Under the patronage of Miss Margaret Wilson, daughter of President Woodrow Wilson, Dr. Maria Montessori, the noted Italian educator, will conduct an international Montessori training course at the Panama-Pacific International exposition during August, September, October and November. With Miss Wilson on the committee in charge of the course are David Starr Jordan, president of the National Education association, which meets in Oakland in August, and P. P. Claxton, United States commissioner of education. The special course will be for the benefit of teachers, parents and others interested in child welfare, and in connection with it will be held a number of demonstration schools in which teachers will do practice work. Noted educators from all parts of the United States and from abroad have been asked to conduct a thorough study and test of Dr. Montessori's method of child training during this course. The exposition authorities asked Dr. Montessori to conduct her international training course on the exposition grounds because of the opportunity it will afford to give an international test of this newest and unique method of developing individual initiative in very young children. An essential part of the plan consists in the appointment of an international committee which will give careful and extended stay to the demonstration classes and report at the close of the exposition concerning the actual progress made and the real contribution that the Montessori principles have made to educational advancement. The arrangements for the course are in the hands of Wallace Hatch of Berkeley, Cal., who was formerly acting chief of the department of education of the exposition."
