Abstract/Notes: Setting the table, feeding themselves, cleaning the table, washing dishes, cleaning spills, blowing their nose, helping with laundry, watering the garden, washing the tables, cleaning the windows, recycling trash/food, pouring their milk, and preparing food-these activities are all totally engaging to the older infant and toddler. Since we work in a Montessori community, there are always spare Sensorial materials in the closets. [...]Montessori Early Childhood adult learners have approximately 35-40 hours of classroom time studying the Sensorial materials, an additional 15 or more hours of practice (alone and with other adults), and extensive practice with children during their practicum in preparation for an examination before certification. While we Infant & Toddler educators focus on the skill of observation of the child's development to meet the infant's and toddler's needs, Early Childhood educators have thoroughly engaged in the study of when, how, and in what sequence to present didactic materials to engage the child from 3 to 6.

To ascertain difference between age and sex, respecting achievement degress of MONTESSORI SENSORY MATERIALS, the obtained data was executed MANOVA using SPSS PC+. For verification, WILKS LAMBDA values were estimated and in the case of main effects being reliable, F-TEST and STRUCTURE COEFFICIENTS were measured. Conclusions of this study can be summarized as follows. First, according to age(3,4,5), there is difference in degrees of achievement of MONTESSORI SENSORY MATERIALS. With advancing years, degrees of achievement increase, and children of various age interact with one another, this is younger children observe the older ones and have indirect experience, and afterwards they can experience instruments in proper age. Second, there is not any difference in MONTESSORI SENSORY MATERIALS according to sex distinction. So we can offer SENSORY MATERIALS to children according to application age. Third, there is no disparity of age in sex distinction about achievement degrees of instruments are to be offered in order of age MONTESSORI SENSORY MATERIALS. That regardless of sex distinction. is, there isn't interaction of age and sex, so the instruments are to be offered in order of age regardless of sex distinction.

Abstract/Notes: Formerly entitled The Montessori Method: Scientific Pedagogy as Applied to Child Education in the Children's Houses. This book was first published in 1909 under the title 'Il Metodo della Pedagogia Scientifica Applicato all'Educazione Infantile nelle Case dei Bambini' ('The Montessori Method: Scientific Pedagogy as Applied to Child Education in the Children's Houses) and was revised in 1913, 1926, and 1935. Maria Montessori revised and reissued this book in 1948 and renamed it 'La Scoperta del Bambino'. This edition is based on the 6th Italian edition of 'La Scoperta del Bambino' published by the Italian publisher Garzanti, Milan, Italy in 1962. M. J. Costelloe, S. J. translated this Italian version into the English language in 1967 for Fides Publishers, Inc. In 2016 Fred Kelpin edited this version and added many footnotes. He incorporated new illustrations based on AMI-blueprints of the materials currently in use.
