Abstract/Notes: In this article, the author discusses and shares his opinion about violence in the media. He states that many of the students in class have honestly responded to his inquiries about violence in culture, that they are "fascinated" with violence in movies, in television shows, in video games, and in the music they listen to away from school. Furthermore, the author is coming to believe that some of the students may be addicted to violence in the media. And this addiction could be just as harmful, in the years to come, as an addiction to a powerful drug or alcohol. He also discusses the antidotes for violence.
