Abstract/Notes: The purpose of this research is reviewing the effect of Montesorri and mandala education provided to preschoolers to visual perception behaviors. The sample of this study comprises 36 children between the ages of 5 and 6 who go to independent preschools. This study is realized by control without group pre-test – post-test experimental pattern. In data collecting phase of the study, Frostig Visual Perception Test was applied which was developed by Frostig (1961) as a pre-test and post-test data collection instrument. As a result of data analysis, it is determined that the montesorri education is significantly in favor of perception points of figure - ground distinction and space - ground distinction which are the sub-dimensions of children's visual perception behavior; and that the mandala education is significantly in favor of perceiving points of figure – ground distinction and space relations which are the sub-dimensions of children's visual perception behavior. In comparing the effect of Montesorri education and mandala education on children's visual perception behaviors, it is observed that there is a significant distinction in favor of Montesorri education in perceiving space and ground which are the sub-dimensions of visual perception behavior.

The research was carried out in experimental design. In experimental process, the METP was applied to the experimental group. Findings revealed that there was no significant difference between the pretests of groups; but also a significant difference between the posttests. And it’s also showed that there is a significant difference; however, there was no significant difference between the pretest and posttests of control group. These findings showed that Program is effective on the thoughts, feelings and behaviors related to Montessori philosophy. According to the findings, it can be suggested that the trainings should be disseminated and that the trainings should be given by people who have knowledge of Montessori philosophy and practice and who have received training from international organizations.

Abstract/Notes: The complex history of Montessori’s Method spreading in the United States was signed by some misunderstandings connected with the reform of the american education system. The Method wasn’t understood in its specificity, but it appeared, in the same time, an alternative or an application of the tradition of Froebel’s Kindergarten. In those years the American pedagogical reflection tried to create an alternative to the continental tradition. For this reason the Progressive Education critized Montessori (i.e. Kilpatrick) for her spiritual and metaphysical premises but this movement couldn’t realize this project and it was inevitably connected with the tradition of European Activism.

Abstract/Notes: Psikolojik dayanıklılık zorluklarla karşılaşan bireylerin mücadele etmesi ve bu mücadeleyi sürdürebilmesi adına önem taşımaktadır. / Psychological resilience is important for individuals who face difficulties and sustain struggle in their lives. Individuals with high psychological resilience are those who can benefit from the difficulties they face. Psychological resilience is a personality trait that can be developed. Maria Montessori describes the method which has its name from her as “I have studied the child; I have taken what the child has given me and expressed it, and that is what is called the Montessori Method” Montessori philosophy, which is a unique educational approach, supports the child to become a selfsufficient individual. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effect of Montessori education philosophy on psychological resilience. This study was carried out by observing 20 students between 24-72 months and the factors that make up psychological resilience were examined. In this context, the psychological resilience of children who are educated with Montessori philosophy were discussed under these headings: assertiveness-selfconfidence, getting help, self-regulation, peer relationships, social competence, attachment, happiness, emotion control, satisfaction deferment and problem solving skills. As a result of the research, it was observed that children who were educated with Montessori philosophy had higher psychological resilience. In addition, it was observed that Montessori philosophy contributes to children being individuals who can make their own decisions, take responsibility for these decisions, have the freedom to work, are self-sufficient and can express themselves.

Abstract/Notes: Music is an integral part of every person’s life. Scientific research has shown the effectiveness of music in medical-rehabilitation contexts to the extent that it is considered, for some categories of people (disabled, socio-cultural, elderly), for the exclusive use of the psychotherapeutic field. The purpose of this review is to demonstrate the importance that music has also in the educational and didactic field to “exploit” its peculiarities, “beyond” the therapeutic component to include the many different contexts of life. Among these, the “digital environments” make music the protagonist of a “world 2.0”, within which, starting from the strengths of the differentiated Method of Maria Montessori, it is possible to create a union between pedagogy and musical education. The last section deals with deafness and music as a specimen, highlighting how theoretical and empirical research on this topic has dealt with it from a threefold perspective: on the one hand, music as rehabilitation therapy for deaf people; on the other, music’s contribution in the overall education of the deaf; finally, music as entertainment and its enjoyment as an expression of quality free time for deaf people.
