Abstract/Notes: The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of teaching via Montessori approach, which is accepted among alternative education methods, on the academic achievement and math attitudes of students concerning the "Geometric Objects and Spatial Relationships" subject in 2nd grade math class. Experimental research method as used in the study is among quantitative research methods. The sample comprised an experimental group of 18 and a control group of 20 people who receive education in a public school in Kocaeli province Dilovası district during the 2019-2020 academic year. The "Traditional Education Method" was used for the control group students, while the "Montessori Education Method" was used for the experimental group students. The study focused on acquisitions discussed in applications performed via the Montessori method. Following the application process the study reapplied the assessment tools given to the students in the pretest. The math lesson achievement test and attitude test were used as data collection tools. The data acquired in both groups was compared and statistically analyzed. As a consequence the students in the classroom where the Montessori method was applied, had higher scores than the control group. Also girls maths attitude scores were found to be higher in experiment group. The dissertation study determined that the Montessori education method has a positive impact on both academic achievement and math attitude. Therefore, Montessori method and materials are implicated as an alternative and effective method for also primary schools and teachers should be couraged to use this method in their classrooms. Keywords: Montessori approach, math ability, math attitude. / Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilkokul 2. Sınıf matematik dersinde "Geometrik Cisimler ve Uzamsal İlişkiler" konusunda, alternatif eğitim yöntemlerinden biri olarak kabul edilen Montessori yaklaşımı ile öğretimin, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına ve matematik dersine olan tutumlarına etkisini incelemektir. Çalışmada yöntem olarak nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan yarı deneysel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Örneklem; 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında, Kocaeli ili Dilovası ilçesinde bir devlet okulunda öğrenim görmekte olan 18 kişilik deney ve 20 kişilik kontrol grubundan oluşmaktadır. Kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerde "Programa Dayalı Eğitim Yöntemi" kullanılırken, deney grubundaki öğrencilerde "Montessori Eğitim Yöntemi" kullanılmıştır. Montessori yöntemiyle yapılan uygulamalarda ele alınan kazanımlara odaklanılmış ve uygulama sürecinin ardından öğrencilere öntestte verilen ölçme araçları tekrar uygulanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak ise Matematik Dersi Başarı Testi ve Tutum Testi kullanılmıştır. Her iki grupta da elde edilen veriler karşılaştırılmış ve istatistiksel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçta Montessori yöntemiyle uygulama yapılan sınıftaki öğrencilerin puanlarının kontrol grubuna göre daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Yapılan bu tez çalışması ile Montessori eğitim yönteminin, hem akademik başarıya hem de matematik dersine olan tutuma yönelik etkisinin olumlu yönde olduğu saptanmıştır. Bu bakımdan okullarda Montessori yaklaşımını benimsemiş sınıflar oluşturulmasının, öğretmenlerin ve okul idarecilerinin bu konuda bilgilendirilmesinin ve teşvik edilmesinin yarar sağlayacağı düşünülebilir. Abstract/Notes: The foundation of the pedagogy elaborated by Maria Montessori is the development of children's personality based on their interest, activity, individual characteristics and developmental rhythm. Its main compo-nents are: the child with his/her freedom of action, motion and choice, the educator as the child's helpmate, and the consciously designed and furnished environment. Montessori's pedagogical concept is all-com-prehensive and global, that is why it can be applied in the most varied cultures and religions. She promoted the individual thinking and deci-sion making of the educators in order to implement her accepted prin-ciples in their own pedagogy and not just expect the method to have its innovative effect. All her life she fought against the interpretation of her theory as being simply an educational method. The article presents the life of Maria Montessori, her pedagogy and her concept on religion and religious education. In the study the author examines some of Maria Montessori's universal and religious pedagogical principles (individual action, activity, the principle of freedom, the psychological principle, the social principle, moral education etc.).

Abstract/Notes: Penelitian Tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatakan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal pembagian siswa yang masih rendah  dalam proses pembelajarnya matematika dikelas III SDN 025 Rambah Hilir. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan penulis pada kelas III  rendahnya  kemampuan menyelesaikan soal pembagian, ditandai dengan belum terfokusnya siswa dengan kegiatan yang dilakukan dikelas. Adapun pelaksanaan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar anak melalui perbaikan pada siklus 1 dan siklus 2 dengan melakukan desain prosedur perbaikan, pengamatan, teknik analisis data serta melakukan refleksi diri untuk pendidik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dari  siklus 1 sampai ke siklus 2. Pada tahap  siklus 1 dari 16 orang peserta didik 8 orang mendapat nilai dibawah KKM dengan persentase 60% dan 4 orang mendapat nilai di atas KKM dengan persentase 40%. Hal ini dapat dilihat rata – rata siswa adalah 70 dikarenakan siswa mendapat nilai diatas KKM sudah melebihi dari 75 % yaitu 12 siswa dan yang mendapatkan nilai dibawah KKM sebanyak 4 siswa dengan presentase 25 %. Nilai tertinggi 80 dan nilai terendah 60 data Dari hasil pengamatan pendidik, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan anak dalam menggunakan metode Montessori.

Abstract/Notes: Maria Montessori (1870-1952) hat ausgehend von einer entwicklungspsychologisch, soziologisch und anthropologisch orientierten Analyse von Kindheit und Jugend ein Schul- und Bildungssystem entworfen, das diesen Ergebnissen auf der Basis der von ihr entwickelten Arbeitsmaterialien folgt. Das Lernen geschieht in vier aufeinanderfolgenden Entwicklungsstufen von jeweils fünf bis sieben Jahren, mit denen aufeinanderfolgende Erziehungspläne korrespondieren: das Montessori-Kinderhaus, die Montessori-Grundschule, der "Erdkinderplan" und die Universität. [Maria Montessori (1870-1952) designed a school and education system based on an analysis of childhood and youth based on developmental psychology, sociology and anthropology, which follows these results on the basis of the working materials she developed. Learning takes place in four successive developmental stages of five to seven years each, with which successive educational plans correspond: the Montessori children's home, the Montessori elementary school, the "Erdkinderplan" and the university.]
