[In this thesis work, the salient features of the Montessori educational approach have been outlined, highlighting on the one hand the profound complexity and relevance that characterizes it and on the other the numerous confirmations both from the teaching considered innovative and from the psychological sciences. A research path was also presented aimed at monitoring the recent experimentation of the Montessori pedagogical approach in some primary schools in the province of Trento. The research was conducted using both qualitative tools (such as an observational check list produced ad hoc for the research), and standardized questionnaires, with the aim of comparing the data collected with a representative sample of a wider school environment.]

Abstract/Notes: The development of fine motors for 5-6 year old children helps increase the children's readiness to go to school, affecting their achievement in reading and math in the future. The Montessori method is one of the ways to help children develop outstanding fine motor skills. This study investigates the reality of using Montessori games to develop fine motor skills for 5-6 year old children in Ho Chi Minh City. We looked into the actual situation of using Montessori games to develop fine motor skills for children aged 5-6 years old at 5 public preschools and private preschool establishments (some preschools in the school system). The results of the investigation show that there were differences in the process of using Montessori games to develop fine motor skills for children aged 5-6 years old and in the level of children's fine motor achievement between children at the selected public and private preschools. From these results, the study proposes appropriate measures to increase the effectiveness of fine motor development for children of 5-6 years of age.

This contribution, mainly based on private archives, is dedicated to the genesis and the first years of the Montessori School directed by Michel Lanternier. Between the 1940s and the 1960s, this school moved from Limoges to Rennes and faced financial, material, and institutional problems. Supported by the families of students, the teaching staff strove to offer Montessori pedagogy with specific material and the products of Michel Lanternier's educational research, encouraged by Mario Montessori.
