Abstract/Notes: The multilingual journal of the Montessori movement The Call of Education (1924-1925) marks a stage in the internationalisation of the method in the context of educational renewal between the wars. It was also the result of a mature Montessori associationism in the Netherlands. Through the profiles of the editors who flanked Montessori, J.L.C. Godefroy and G. Révész, it is possible to discern common dynamics in the pedagogical mobilisation of a bourgeoisie committed to early childhood education and some specific features that made Amsterdam a Montessori capital. / La revista multilingüe del movimiento Montessori The Call of Education (1924-1925) marca una etapa en la internacionalización del método en el contexto de la renovación educativa del periodo de entreguerras. Al mismo tiempo, es el resultado de la madurez de las asociaciones Montessori en los Países Bajos. A través de los perfiles de los dos editores que trabajan junto a Montessori, J.L.C. Godefroy y G. Révész, es posible captar algunas dinámicas comunes de movilización pedagógica de una burguesía educadora y algunas características específicas que hacen de la ciudad de Ámsterdam, una capital Montessori. / La revista multilingüe del moviment Montessori The Call of Education (1924-1925) marca una etapa en la internacionalització del mètode en el context de la renovació educativa del període d’entreguerres. Al mateix temps, és el resultat de la maduresa de les associacions Montessori als Països Baixos. A través dels perfils dels dos editors que treballen al costat de Montessori, J. L. C. Godefroy i G. Révész, és possible copsar algunes dinàmiques comunes de mobilització pedagògica d’una burgesia educadora i algunes característiques específiques que fan de la ciutat d’Amsterdam, una capital Montessori. / La revista multilingüe del movimiento Montessori The Call of Education (1924- 1925) marca una etapa en la internacionalización del método en el contexto de la renovación educativa del periodo de entreguerras. Abstract/Notes: In this research, the effect of Montessori education approach on the creativity of pre - school children in visual arts lesson was investigated and the creativity developments in students were observed. The research was carried out in college kindergarten, which educates under Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır province. 20 students between 48-66 months were applied the Montessori Education Approach and 60 students were applied the Ministry of National Education pre-school program and these two were compared to each other. Equal units are applied in both programs, Ceramic, watercolor, collage technique. The problem addressed in the study;The loss of student creativity in the implementation of the Ministry of National Education Preschool Program, the loss of self-confidence while students work, and the fact that the applied approaches are teacher-centered and therefore the works are not unique but are similar to each other. In the classrooms where Montessori Education Approach is applied, reflections of originality in the works of art, attitudes of free children to the lesson, and increased co-operation during the lesson have been observed. It is also observed that in the classrooms in which the Ministry of National Education pre-school program is applied, the method of instruction, class rules reminded in the lesson, teachers' criticism of the works resulted in loss of self-confidence in the students, reluctance to the subject,not being able to bring out the creativity and being bad tempered to students' friends. / Bu araştırmada, okul öncesi eğitim programında yer alan görsel sanatlar eğitimi ders konularının, Montesori Eğitimi Yaklaşımı programı uygulanarak, yaratıcılık gelişimlerine etkisinin nasıl olduğu belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. 48-66 ay grubundaki 20 öğrenciye Montessori Eğitimi Yaklaşım Programı, aynı yaş grubundaki 60 öğrenciye Milli Eğitim Programı uygulanmış ve ikisi karşılaştırılmıştır. İki programda eşit üniteler işlenmiş, bunlar; Seramik tekniği, kolaj tekniği ve suluboya tekniğidir. Araştırma Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Okul Öncesi Programının uygulandığı, görsel sanatlar eğitiminde, görsellerle yapılan anlatım sunumları, öğrencilerin yaratıcılıklarına etkileri, derste sınıf kuralları hatırlatarak ders işlenmesi aynı zamansa öğrenci eserlerine öğretmenlerin olumlu veya olumsuz eleştirilerinin etkileri araştırılmıştır. İkinci program olan Montessori Eğitimi Yaklaşımı programının uygulandığı, görsel sanatlar eğitiminin sonunda öğrencilerin yaratıcılıklarına etkileri, sanat çalışmalarının, özgünlük ve yenilik açısından yansımaları, özgür bırakılan çocukların derse kaşı tutumları, öğrenci başarısına etkileri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçları, Montessori Eğitimi Yaklaşımı programı uygulanan sınıftaki öğrencilerde yardımlaşmanın önemli ölçüde arttığı, çocuklara yönelik yönerge olmadan, derslere kendi istekleri doğrultusunda katıldıkları ve malzemelerin yerlerini öğrenerek ihtiyaç duydukları anda aldıkları görülmüştür. Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Programı ile işlenen, sanat eğitimi derslerinde, öğretmenlerin görsel materyalleri, örnek modelleri, anlatım ve soru-cevap yöntemlerini kullandıkları. Sınıftaki malzeme dolapları öğrencilerin ulaşamayacakları yükseklikte ve göremeyecekleri kapalı dolaplarda bulunması öğrencileri sınırladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Abstract/Notes: Character education is an effort to form good values imprinted in a person and manifested in the form of behavior so they can distinguish themselves from others. This character education aims to form a strong and noble human being. All educational institutions realize how important the development of character education is for students in their institutions. However, the process of character education has not been fully able to run effectively in all educational institutions because schools emphasize more on increasing students' cognitive abilities. This study aimed to obtain an overview of the extent to which teachers understand the importance of character education in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and the Montessori Method in shaping the character of students. This study is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The sample in this study was ECE teachers in Panongan Sub-district, Tangerang Regency, totaling 112 people. The selection of samples was done using the Simple Random Sampling method. The instrument used was a survey distributed to respondents via Google form. The results of the study indicate that ECE teachers have understood the importance of character education and the Montessori Method which is integrated into 6 aspects of early childhood development through a character education process that is provided continuously at every level.

Abstract/Notes: This thesis examines the Montessori music curriculum that was developed by Maria Montessori and her music consultant Maria Maccheroni. It introduces the most typical Montessori music instruments and equipment as well as exercises that go with them. It also explores the possibilities of combining Montessori music with today’s music teaching and early childhood music education. The material of this thesis is mainly based on literature about the Montessori Method and its music section, along with observations made while working at various Montessori preschools in Finland. Many of the Montessori method’s musical exercises are challenging and can be seen as old fashioned by today’s music education standards. Maria Montessori expected many things from her Montessori teachers. Montessori teachers were expected to be completely in charge of the children’s musical education. This may be difficult to implement nowadays because in order to properly understand the Montessori music curriculum, one needs a great deal of theoretical knowledge and understanding of music. However, there are plenty of positive aspects to the Montessori music education and its elements can be applied to modern day music teaching. The Montessori method is very child-centered and even though it was developed more than a hundred years ago, the main principles are still valid today. A children’s music lesson plan is included in this thesis. It combines Montessori music education with Finnish early childhood music education. Many music educators and Montessori teachers know little about the music part of the Montessori method. Not much literature can be found about it in Finnish. The goal of this thesis is to study Montessori music education and to give more information about it to music educators and Montessori teachers. / Opinnäytetyössäni tutkin Maria Montessorin ja hänen konsulttinsa Maria Maccheronin yli sata vuotta sitten kehittämää musiikkikasvatusmenetelmää. Esittelen tyypillisimpiä montessorimusiikkivälineitä sekä niihin liittyviä harjoituksia. Lisäksi pohdin miten montessorimusiikkikasvatusta olisi mahdollista soveltaa musiikinopetuksessa ja varhaisiän musiikkikasvatuksessa. Aineistoni perustuu ennen kaikkea montessoripedagogiikasta ja montessorimusiikkikasvatuksesta saatavilla olevaan kirjallisuuteen sekä montessorileikkikoulussa työni kautta tehtyihin havaintoihin. Monet montessorimenetelmän musiikkiosion työt ja harjoitukset ovat haastavia ja nykyisen musiikkikasvatuskäsityksen mukaan vanhanaikaisia. Maria Montessorin toivetta montessoriohjaajasta, joka opettaa musiikkia hänen menetelmänsä mukaisesti, voi olla vaikea toteuttaa, koska montessorimusiikkikasvatuksen hallitseminen vaatii runsaasti musiikin teoreettista tuntemista. Montessorimusiikkikasvatuksessa on kuitenkin myös paljon hyvää ja sitä voi soveltaa nykypäivän musiikinopetukseen. Montessorimenetelmä on erittäin lapsilähtöinen ja vaikka se kehitettiin yli sata vuotta sitten, monet sen perusajatukset ovat edelleen sovellettavissa. Opinnäytetyöni sisältää tekemäni muskarituntisuunnitelman, jossa sovellan montessorimusiikkikasvatusta varhaisiän musiikkikasvatuksen tunnille. Monet musiikkikasvattajat ja montessoriohjaajat eivät tunne tai tuntevat vain pintapuolisesti montessorimenetelmän musiikkiosion, ja montessorimusiikkikasvatuksesta on saatavilla vain hyvin vähän suomenkielistä tietoa. Opinnäytetyöni tarkoitus on tutkia montessorimenetelmän musiikkiosiosta ja antaa lisätietoa montessoriohjaajille ja musiikkikasvattajille.

Currently, AMS is piloting a training program for teacher education programs and their adult learners. Between meetings, members are expected to participate in work groups and subcommittees, review and recommend teacher education programs for affiliation, review and make recommendations for teacher education standards, and serve as ambassadors for the larger teacher education community.

Abstract/Notes: The purpose of this study is to analysis of Montessori sensory education and the math education content commonly included in the national curriculum. The study is based on the theoretical ground that diverse, specific and systematic activities and teaching tools would help efficient teaching of abstract math concepts to young children considering their developmental characteristics. First, the math education content commonly included in the national curriculum(2007 Kindergarten Curriculum and Standard Childcare Curriculum) was analyzed and then used as reference in determining the amount of math education content included in Montessori sensory education. According to this study, even though Montessori sensory education demonstrated limited relevance to number and arithmetics, all other math content was sufficiently addressed. Therefore, the use of Montessori sensory education could be considered an efficient approach to enhancing basic math ability of young children. / 본 연구는 몬테소리 감각교구가 국가수준 교육과정에서 다루고 있는 유아 수학교육 내용을 어느 정도 다루고 있는지 비교함으로써, 유아의 수학적 기초 능력 향상을 위해 몬테소리 감각교구를 활용하기 위한 기초자료를 마련하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2007년 유치원 교육과정 및 표준보육과정에서 공통적으로 다루고 있는 수학교육내용(수와 연산, 기하, 측정, 규칙성, 자료의 분석)에 따라 몬테소리 감각교구를 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과 몬테소리 감각교구는 수학교육 내용 중 수와 연산과는 비교적 관련성이 적었으나 모든 감각교구가 수학교육 내용을 충분히 다루고 있었다. 따라서 유아의 수학적 기초 능력 향상을 위한 방안으로 몬테소리 감각교구를 활용할 수 있다고 사료된다.
