Abstract/Notes: Ensuring equitable access to high-quality early education for families from all racial, ethnic, and income backgrounds is a critical component for addressing systemic racism and inequality within the public education system. This study examined one piece of this issue by investigating access to public Montessori pre-K, as well as barriers that may hinder equitable access. While many public Montessori pre-K programs report that students are admitted through a random lottery process, initial efforts to study these programs indicated that certain enrollment policies may create barriers to access. Potential barriers to accessing public Montessori pre-K include lottery priority status for siblings, neighborhood residents, and children of staff; a lack of targeted recruitment practices for families from underserved communities; and affordability. These barriers to access may disproportionally affect Black and Latino families and families facing poverty, who have unequal access to high-quality educational opportunities overall. The Montessori model was originally created to give children with learning challenges (e.g., children who exhibited concentration, attention, and discipline challenges) a high-quality educational environment where they could thrive. Given the origins of the Montessori pedagogy and existing disparities within the educational system, questions of equity should be at the center of policy development for accessing public Montessori pre-K.

Abstract/Notes: Maria Montessori (1870-1952) hat ausgehend von einer entwicklungspsychologisch, soziologisch und anthropologisch orientierten Analyse von Kindheit und Jugend ein Schul- und Bildungssystem entworfen, das diesen Ergebnissen auf der Basis der von ihr entwickelten Arbeitsmaterialien folgt. Das Lernen geschieht in vier aufeinanderfolgenden Entwicklungsstufen von jeweils fünf bis sieben Jahren, mit denen aufeinanderfolgende Erziehungspläne korrespondieren: das Montessori-Kinderhaus, die Montessori-Grundschule, der "Erdkinderplan" und die Universität. Abstract/Notes: The article tackles the issue of mathematical education provided by teachers in the kindergartens run in the Montessori system. As empirical research has demonstrated, mathematical education in Montessori kindergartens proceeds correctly and effectively. The respondent teachers declared that they teach mathematical content very often. They use varied teaching methods and forms specific to the Montessori approach, giving preference to individual work with the developmental material. Such an educational situation guarantees that children completing their pre-school education in the Montessori system will have mastered preliminary mathematical skills (called mathematical intuitions) at an appropriate level and attained the maturity required for learning mathematics at the school level. / W artykule podjęto problem realizacji edukacji matematycznej przez nauczycieli w przedszkolach w systemie Montessori. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań empirycznych ustalono, iż edukacja matematyczna w placówkach Montessori przebiega prawidłowo i efektywnie. Badani nauczyciele deklarują dużą częstotliwość realizowania treści matematycznych. Stosują zróżnicowane metody i formy kształcenia właściwe dla pedagogiki montessoriańskiej, preferując indywidualną pracę dziecka z materiałem rozwojowym. Taka sytuacja edukacyjna gwarantuje dzieciom kończącym edukację przedszkolną w systemie Montessori opanowanie na właściwym poziomie wstępnych umiejętności matematycznych nazwanych matematycznymi intuicjami oraz osiągniecie dojrzałości do uczenia się matematyki na poziomie szkolnym.

Abstract/Notes: Penelitian Tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatakan kemampuan menyelesaikan soal pembagian siswa yang masih rendah  dalam proses pembelajarnya matematika dikelas III SDN 025 Rambah Hilir. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan penulis pada kelas III  rendahnya  kemampuan menyelesaikan soal pembagian, ditandai dengan belum terfokusnya siswa dengan kegiatan yang dilakukan dikelas. Adapun pelaksanaan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar anak melalui perbaikan pada siklus 1 dan siklus 2 dengan melakukan desain prosedur perbaikan, pengamatan, teknik analisis data serta melakukan refleksi diri untuk pendidik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dari  siklus 1 sampai ke siklus 2. Pada tahap  siklus 1 dari 16 orang peserta didik 8 orang mendapat nilai dibawah KKM dengan persentase 60% dan 4 orang mendapat nilai di atas KKM dengan persentase 40%. Hal ini dapat dilihat rata – rata siswa adalah 70 dikarenakan siswa mendapat nilai diatas KKM sudah melebihi dari 75 % yaitu 12 siswa dan yang mendapatkan nilai dibawah KKM sebanyak 4 siswa dengan presentase 25 %. Nilai tertinggi 80 dan nilai terendah 60 data Dari hasil pengamatan pendidik, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan anak dalam menggunakan metode Montessori.
