Abstract/Notes: The present study is conducted to examine the effect of the Montessori method on kindergarten children's large muscle skills. The study group formed with 40 children who were between 36 and 60 months and going to Ihsan Dogramacı Implementation Kindergarten of Selcuk University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Konya during the 2014-2015 academic year. As data collection tool, the Large Muscle Skills Assessment Test (LMSAT) is used. The tests are applied to students before and after the experiment; they are applied again to experimental group ten weeks after the application of the program ended. Mann-Whitney- U Test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test were used in the analysis of the data obtained from the study. When the findings of the present study are examined and the pre-test and post-test score average of both experimental and control group children's gathered via Large Muscle Skills Assessment Test (LMSAT) is compared, a significant difference was found in favor of the experimental group. When experimental group children's Large Muscle Skills Assessment Test (LMSAT) post-test and test-retest score average results are compared there was no statistically meaningful difference. Depending on the findings it can be said that Montessori method affects kindergarten children's large muscle skills positively and is also more effective in terms of large muscle skills compared to the pre-School education program of the Ministry of Education.

Abstract/Notes: The Società Umanitaria of Milan, between 1918 and 1923, played an essential role in spreading and developing the Montessori Method. Studying in the Historical Archive of Società Umanitaria the numerous documents there collected, the author reconstructed the crucial moments of the extremely significant collaboration between Maria Montessori and Augusto Osimo, General Secretary of the Società Umanitaria. This complex and in-depth investigation was guided by the analysis, in specific, of the training courses for Montessori teachers organised by Società Umanitaria, essentially unexamined before this study, that allowed the researcher to have a deep insight into the action of Società Umanitaria aimed to promote and implement the Montessori Method in Italy and all around the world.

Abstract/Notes: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of Montessori method education on the visual-motor abilities of students with nonverbal learning disorders. For the purpose of this study, 4 first grade male students with nonverbal learning disabilities who were studying at Nabi Akram primary school in Bonab, during the academic year of 2019-2020, were selected based on the bender visual - motor gestalt test. In this research, which is a single-subject design with multi-baselines (ABA), each participant was first carefully observed according to the criteria of nonverbal learning disability and their visual-motor cognitive abilities accurately measured and recorded. Then, during the intervention phase, each participant received the Montessori method education during the 10 sessions for 45 minutes separately. The performance of the participants is also observed in the follow-up sessions. Finally, the data was analyzed by analyzing the visual diagrams, percentage of all non-overlapping data (PAND), calculating the effect size index and recovery percentage. The results of the research showed that the Montessori method education increased the visual-motor abilities of all four participants. As a result, Montessori education can be used as part of empowerment programs for students with nonverbal learning disabilities.
